It is popular today to be against the God of the Bible. Many believe God’s rules of morality are old fashioned and they believe they know better than God what rules should and should not apply to society. An example of this is the subject of gay marriage. The Bible states clearly:
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, - 1 Corinthians 6:9
God is very clear on this subject and in Leviticus 18:22 He calls it an abomination. However, many today, from the President on down, think this standard is an impingement on human rights! And this group includes Democrats, Republicans, liberals and conservatives, and even Christians. You would think they created mankind rather God and they think their wisdom is greater than God’s.
Most of these same people would say they believe in god but, their problem is their god is not real. He is a figment of their imagination, made up to fit their evolutionary standards of how things are. They may go to church, occasionally, but church has never come to them! They are the lukewarm that Jesus declared He would spit out of His mouth.
“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” – Revelation 3:16
They would say “God is a God of love and He would not be opposed to actions based in love.” But, this kind of reasoning is based on a redefinition of love. They are defining sexual gratification as love but, the Bible defines it differently. Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15). But, they do not want to face this truth so, they move the Bible and Christian morals to the back room until it can be done away with.
The Apostle Paul long ago described this as “unrighteous deception”:
“and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” – 2 Thessalonians 2:10
I have picked one standard to write about, biblical marriage. But, there are many I could have included, such as government leaders lying to and stealing from ‘we the people’, or government schools indoctrinating our children in socialism and communism, or Christian churches forsaking Biblical standards for the sake of money and power, or even our support of Hollywood’s propagating moral filth all over the world.
As a nation, we are rotting in our roots and the reason is we are forsaking the truth. We have even redefined what truth is. But, I would once again declare what our founding fathers believed was the truth on which to build a life, or a country – Jesus!
“Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” – John 14:6
