Daniel's 70 Week Prophesy_part 2

The Revelation Daniel received from the angel Gabriel is sweeping in its scope; beginning with the return from Babylon captivity and rebuilding of Jerusalem, in Daniel’s time, then stretching forward in time to the first coming of Messiah, and culminating with the coming of antichrist at the end of the age. It is found in the Book of Daniel, chapter nine, and verses 24 through 27.

This prophesy is divided into three sections and in the first edition I covered the first section. In this edition I will cover the second section.

“Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks (1^st section), and threescore and two weeks (2^nd section): the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself (or and shall have nothing):” – Daniel 9:25-26f section inserts added

In the 2^nd section, threescore and two weeks are added, which equals 62 weeks of prophetic years or a total 434 pyrs. When this is added to the 49 pyrs of the 1^st section we have 49 + 434 = 483 pyrs until the first coming of Messiah (this will be important for the calculations that will follow later).

Gabriel reveals to Daniel that when Messiah comes, He “shall be cut off, but not for Himself”. This must have been a startling thought for Daniel who had been faithfully waiting for the coming Messiah. But we have the benefit of history to explain it to us and we know He was rejected and did not receive the Messianic kingdom when He first came. He was indeed ‘cut off’ but not for His own sins, but for ours.

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” – Isaiah 53:5

Now we come to the calculations of the date Messiah will come the 1^st time and the reason why many Jews today no longer count Daniel as a prophet. 

First, this 2^nd section reveals Messiah will come in 483 pyrs. Since a prophetic year is 360 days, this time period will be: 483 pyr x 360 day/pyr = 173,880 days on our calendar. Now we will examine the date of the crucifixion of Jesus according to the Bible.

• 1.   Scripture fixes the Lord’s 1^st Passover of His ministry as the Hebrew month of Nisan A.D. 29.
• 2.   His crucifixion took place at the 4^th Passover of His ministry, or Nisan A.D. 32.
• 3.   At this time, He went up to Jerusalem on the 8^th of Nisan, which was a Friday, spent the Sabbath in Bethany, and entered Jerusalem the following day, which was Sunday, the 10^th of Nisan. This date in our calendar was April 6, A.D. 32.
• 4.   What is the interval between March 14, B.C. 445 (the date of Artaxerxes command to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem) and April 6, A.D. 32? It is 173,880 days, or seven times 69 prophetic years of 360 days! Jesus made His Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem on the exact day Daniel prophesied He would. There is no doubt Jesus is the Messiah – God proves it in His Scripture. (If you are adventuresome and want to calculate these dates for yourself, remember there is no 0 year. The calendar goes from 1 B.C. to 1 A.D.)

This 2^nd section of Daniel’s revelation finishes the period of kings for Israel. 38 years after the crucifixion of Jesus the Romans destroy the Temple and the city of Jerusalem, ending the sacrificial system and Jewish rule over the city of Jerusalem. The Roman general Titus did this in 70 A.D...Then in 134 A.D., after an unsuccessful revolt by the Jews led by Bar Kochba, the Jews were dispersed throughout the world and the period of the Diaspora began. This also began the period Jesus called “the times of the Gentiles” (Luke 21:24), a period of time in which Gentiles would rule over Israel and Jerusalem.

“… and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined” – Daniel 9:26ff

The angel Gabriel’s descriptions of this time apply describes the 2000 year time gap that follows. Over the period of time known as the Diaspora a ‘flood’ of Gentile people have persecuted the Jews and many have tried to exterminate them altogether. The phrase “unto the end of the war” can best be understood by reading Revelation 12 where the war of Satan against the Jews is fully described.

But this is not the end of the story! As the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 11:26 & 27 –

And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins."

As we have witnessed the restoration of Israel and Jerusalem once more under Jewish control, we know this ‘times of the Gentiles’ is soon over. And the time for finishing ‘transgression’ and ‘make an end of sin’ is fast approaching.

If you have not yet turned your life over to God and made peace with the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, it is time to do so. Don’t wait for you do not have much time left.

Understanding Daniel's 70 Week Prophesy_1

Seventy weeks (seventy sevens) are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.  Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.  And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate (or desolator).  - Daniel 9:24-27

God has revealed His plans for man’s history in many places in the Bible and this is one of them. He has given to us the privilege of searching them out.

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. – Proverbs 25:2

I would remind you that the New Testament often refers to believers as ‘kings and priests’, so it is our responsibility to search out the hidden wisdom God has left for us in His Scriptures.

Now in this revelation given to Daniel by the angel Gabriel the term ‘seventy weeks’ is literally ‘seventy sevens’ , or 70 x 7 = 490 prophetic years. Throughout the Bible a prophetic year is a 360 day year. 

Before continuing, we need to understand the 6-fold purposes of this prophesy:

1. 1.   To finish the transgression
2. 2.   To make an end of sins
3. 3.   To cover iniquity
4. 4.   To bring the righteousness of the ages
5. 5.   To seal up the vision and prophesy
6. 6.   To anoint the most Holy

In other words, this prophesy will see the coming of Messiah which “takes away the sins of the world”, brings restoration and forgiveness to both Israel and Gentiles, establishes the Messianic kingdom of God on earth, fulfills all the visions and prophesies God has given to man, and I think the last one talks about the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem which is the only place God has set His Name.

We are told this prophesy will begin its countdown when the command is given to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. This command was issued by the Persian King Artaxerxes and is found in the 2^nd chapter of Nehemiah. We know from history the exact date of this proclamation – the beginning of the month of Nisan, 445 B.C. or March 14, B.C. 445 on our calendar. With the beginning date established, we are now ready to see how the rest of this prophesy unfolds.

The 1^st division of the ‘seventy weeks’ is a 7 weeks interval, or 49 years, in which the ‘street and the wall shall be built again even in troublous times’. This phase speaks about the first rebuilding of Jerusalem. Reading the Book of Nehemiah testifies to the truth of this account.

From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows and armor. The officers posted themselves behind all the people of Judah who were building the wall. Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other, and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked. But the man who sounded the trumpet stayed with me. – Nehemiah 4:16-18

They suffered threats and attacks from the non-Jews of the area and from complaints and disunity among themselves. It was indeed a ‘troublous time’.

This will be the first installment of this teaching. The second installment will begin the 2^nd division of the prophesy in which Messiah comes as predicted. It is the reason why many modern Jews do not like to credit Daniel with being a prophet of Israel, even though before Messiah came the 1^st time Daniel was well respected as a Hebrew prophet.

My question is, what THE HECK is all this doing in the budget in the first place?

When God is Removed from Government

Democratic Congresswomen Jan Schakowsky agrees with Obama on a recent interview, Americans are too stupid to understand the complicated debt ceiling and social security threat while she can’t seem to explain it herself. Democrats like Barney Frank and Chuck Schumer give us the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack failures using them as a Ponzi scheme to make them and their friends millions at our expense while Fed Chairman Ben Bernacke assured everyone that they were solvent all the time siphoning money into Democratic coffers. Meanwhile while our economy falters Democrats give us billion dollar stimulus programs that end up in Democrat pockets and their supporters. Well, what should we expect when we have people from Chicago running things?

Even though the major media tries to make them look good, they are failing! The economy is in the tank and going downhill fast. Unable to hide the truth any longer glimmers of what is really happening are leaking out. Economics experts are saying “US Economics System Near Collapse”. Peter Schiff, CEO of Connecticut based brokerage Euro Pacific Capital, recently said, “I think that all the talk about default is really an admission that the United States is running a gigantic Ponzi scheme.”

When you have over 50% of the American people on the take from a liberal government, you can bet liberals are going to blame our economic woes (woes that they mostly caused for the sake of power) on the rich. They never seem to say that all the Democratic Congress are rich themselves and they are great at spending other people’s money but never their own! However, there is a reckoning coming – and it is not just political.

In case you think this is political and not spiritual understand that to God every action of man has a spiritual base. That is why every political action needs to be held up to the light and scrutiny of Scripture.

Our blessings, all of them, are from God. He blessed us because we confessed Him and followed His rules for living. We were at one time a righteous nation. That means we honored honesty and a man was only as good as his word.

He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the LORD, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken. – Psalm 15 (emphasis added)

Few lawyers and laws were needed because a man’s word was his bond – but that day is past, especially in politics. Today, politicians say anything to get elected and then forget about it when convenient. The many procedural votes they take on any bill to get it passed are exactly so they can say “I voted for it before I voted against it!” or vice versa. It is meant to fool the voters, but God will not be fooled –

But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. – Matthew 12:36 (Jesus)

Well, I just want to say “Not all Americans are too stupid to understand the debt ceiling and Social Security!” American’s were promised that money would be taken from their pay checks and put into a secure trust fund for their retirement, and that it would earn interest. Instead the Congress, both Democrat and Republican took the money and spent it, leaving an IOU in place of it. Now we find out that the IOUs are worthless. That is stealing in my book and I’m quite sure it is in God’s book as well! As for the debt ceiling any reasonable person can understand you can’t spend more than you take in; that is not for long. You must have a balanced budget!

When Congress is exempt from the very laws they pass for the rest of us that is not a Republic form of democracy, it is tyranny. When they vote themselves raises at a time the rest of the country is out of work (true unemployment is now around 15%) and going broke, that is certainly not representative government! When they vote themselves great retirements, even after two years of service, that is more totalitarian than democratic.

The people of ancient Israel are a good example for us. They were not satisfied with God’s government; they wanted a king like the other nations had.

They said to him, "You are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have." [God told Samuel] Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do." Samuel told all the words of the LORD to the people who were asking him for a king. He said, "This is what the king who will reign over you will do: He will take . . . for his own use. He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves. When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day." – 1 Samuel 8:5-18 (emphasis added)

There is a lesson here for us – if you want the government to do everything for you, you will become its slaves and will only have what the government says you can have. We are nearly there now. No one in America owns even their own house, they are simply renters. If you don’t pay your real estate taxes (rent) on your property, you will soon find out that I’m right on this!

I urge you to do two things: (1) Turn back to God whole-heartedly as He is the only One who can help us, and (2) Stop listening to the seductive voices of those who promise you everything for your vote. They can give nothing that they do not take from someone else and you will end up in slavery.

Divide and Destroy

And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17

Revelation 12 reveals to us Satan's plan of attack both personally and corporately. He cannot allow God's plan to go forward because he knows it will end in his destruction. Therefore he must stop the woman (Israel) from delivering her child (Jesus the Messiah). He failed so, his next line of defense is to stop the followers of Christ, but he is failing in this also. They are overcoming him by by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they love not their lives unto the death. His third line of defense is to stop God's promise to restore Israel back to the land, thus making God to be a liar. This results in a mighty war in heaven in which Satan is cast out of the heavens and down to earth. In rage he turns his full wrath of the true believers, those who hold the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Satan is not a gentleman and he does not go around dressed in a red suit holding a pitchfork. He is subtle and he is a deceiver. As he did with Eve so he does with us today; whispering doubts and accusations getting us to disobey God. He is like a snake, lying in hiding and waiting to strike. He is moving today with urgency because he knows his time is short. For this reason I write this article - to warn of the lurking danger.

Jesus taught that a house divided could not stand (Mark 3:24), yet, the church today finds itself in that position. A recent article highlighted this problem for me.

Catholic League spokeswoman Kiera McCaffrey says Hagee is a "larger problem" than Farrakhan because Farrakhan is "small potatoes and old news" compared to Hagee and his huge following. McCaffrey says her group is calling on McCain to repudiate Hagee, a Christian leader spokeswoman McCaffrey claims has a long history of "anti-Catholic bigotry." - Jim Brown - Catholic League: Hagee's endorsement worse than Farrakhan's- OneNewsNow - 3/3/2008

Let me see if I have this right: John Hagee professes belief in Jesus as Lord and Savior - Farrakhan does not; Hagee believes the Bible is the word of God - Farrakhan believes the Koran is; Hagee believes the Jews are God's chosen people - Farrakhan believes they are pigs; Hagee believes God is not finished with Israel and is making them a nation once again - Farrakhan wants to cast them all into the sea! I'm having a hard time seeing how Hagee is a "larger problem" for true Christians than Farrakhan is.

I personally know many fine Catholics who are Christians. Are they all Christians? I don't think so, and neither do many of the Catholics that I know. But, I could say the same thing about Baptists, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Pentecostals, etc. It takes more than belonging to a particular church to qualify for being a Christian. The key issue is whether Jesus is Lord in your life and whether you keep His word. He said "If you love me. keep My word." not "If you love Me, go to church!" We are living at a time in the United States when the true Church of Jesus Christ is languishing, needing a fresh vision of our purpose and calling in God. Not a time for partisan bickering and name calling.

This article highlights an issue that I believe the Holy Spirit is speaking plainly about in our day - Denominations are not of God! The very word means "to divide and name" but, Jesus prayed in John 17:21 that His followers, the ones God gave to Him, would be one even as He and the Father were one. 

I include in this problem all of the early confessions as well as the later denominations that have formed since the Reformation. There is only one "divide and name" process that God is going to do and that is the separation of the sheep from the goats (Matthew 25:32) when Jesus returns. (And it could be that this process is beginning now.)

How does one get into the "sheep" group? A few thoughts come to mind: 1) Know the truth, because that alone can set you free and Jesus said "My word is truth" - not church tradition but, My word. 2) Act and live as Jesus did. He said, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for Me." (Matthew 25:40). What is your attitude toward Jewish people? Jesus' attitude was to forgive them and to work for their salvation. 3) Work for the Jews to come into the true Church, not as Gentile "wild olive' branches but, as the "natural branch" grafted back in through faith in Jesus. After all, this is why Jesus died on the cross, to make "one new man" and break down the barrier between Jew and Gentile ( Ephesians 2:11-18). 4) Work for Gentiles to come into the true Church. As the 'age of the Gentiles' is drawing to a close, we should work all the more for as big a harvest as can be had. 5) Humble yourself and repent whenever "the truth" illuminates your sin. We all have sinned and continue to sin, because we are not perfected yet. But, if we are willing to bow to the sword of the Spirit, which is the illuminating, piercing, convicting word of God, God will finish in us the good work He began (Philippians 1:6).

There are many other points that could be made, finer points of truth that are necessary for healthy growth in the Lord, but, if we begin with these five, the Holy Spirit will direct our education to include what we need, when we need it. To all those, like the Catholic League, who feel they have to defend their position and their church, I would remind you of the words of our great leader - "I will build My church" - Jesus. Don't get all bent out of shape arguing whether Peter was the rock or whether Peter's confession was the rock, just know that Jesus is going to work it all out if we just follow Him. Meanwhile, the fields are white unto harvest and the Lord is looking for those who will go into the fields and harvest. Not for your church but, for His Church! There is only one true Church and it isn't Catholic, or Lutheran, or Baptist, or Pentecostal, or any other name men like to use to identify themselves - it is the Church that belongs to Jesus Christ and obeys what He says, all of it!

Since there is no 'separation of church and state' in the kingdom of God, He takes an equally dim view of those who try to separate their secular life from their spiritual life. Many today seem to think because an activity is political, or work related, they need not apply the same rules as they would toward their religious life. But, Scripture reveals clearly that we will be judged by the same standards for our secular endeavors as for our religious ones. Some political examples come easily to mind: (1) abortion, and those who support it are transgressing a fundamental rule of the kingdom of God - death of the innocent, (2) taxation for the sake of 'earmarks', which is just another form of stealing and no thief will enter the kingdom of heaven, and remember, God does not care whether you are Democrat, Republican, or Independent the same rule will apply. (3) Knowingly lying or breaking your word will also keep you out of the kingdom of Heaven. In fact, it is hard to understand how a modern politician playing by typical political standards will ever get into heaven! (4) Knowingly preferring the wicked who support abortion, homosexuality, or any other position that God opposes will earn you the same condemnation they get from God.

It is time to begin following the teaching of Jesus as revealed in the Holy Bible and not church dogma, which is often just the traditions of men or worldly philosophy, which is just Humanism in religious skin. The world tries to separate us into 'liberal' Christians or 'conservative' Christians but God only recognizes those born of 'blood birth' - in other words, by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. May you become one of them.

Building on a Firm Foundation

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."

When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, - Matthew 7:21-28

If Jesus were to teach this in today’s society, many would also be amazed! He clearly cuts through all the rhetoric that we are steadily presented with in the media and all the ‘smoke and mirrors’ we are given by politicians to get our votes. He simplified all the issues of life into one goal – entering the kingdom of heaven. This life is so brief, it is like a flower that blooms and then is cut down, like smoke that soon drifts away. He offered eternal life in the kingdom of heaven but, there were strict rules for entering.

If you are wise, you hear the words of Jesus and put them into practice in your life then you are like the man who built his house on the rock so it could withstand the tests and trials of life. But if you are foolish you don’t do what He says and you are like a man who built his house on sand. You chose poorly!

The Bible has another teaching that explains the difference between the wise and the fool – Ecclesiastes 10:2.

“The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.”

Today, we say conservatives are on the right and liberals are on the left but by Jesus’ standards few of the conservatives are on the right and none of the liberals. You cannot support abortion in any way and call yourself a follower of Jesus. You will be like those in the parable Jesus told which say, “We talked the talk” but Jesus will say “You didn’t walk the walk!” You cannot hold others to standards you don’t hold to yourself but the Congress and Whitehouse extort high wages for meager health care and retirements for the citizens but exempt themselves from the same laws while taking exorbitant health care and retirement for themselves. Jesus said he who would be great should be the servant of all but that attitude is certainly not exhibited by Obama, whose wife has hundreds of personal servants who are paid large salaries with our money.

There was a time in our history when every action of Congress and government was held up to scrutiny by Scriptural standards by churches, but that day is past because their tax exempt status means more to them than truth. A large so-called Christian network, TBN, recently pulled a show off the air because it criticized those ministers who are promoting the false doctrine of Chrislam, a mixing of Christianity and Islam. Thankfully, Jack Van Impe left TBN and continues to speak out against this heresy that over 300 well known preachers have embraced.

Many big churches are supporting doctrines that oppose Jesus’ teachings and few speak out against the government doing things that are clearly against God’s Word. For example, when this government stands against God concerning His land of Israel thus bringing down God’s judgments on America, few churches or ministries are sounding forth the alarm of protest. Our nation is burning up with drought and wildfires while some parts are losing valuable cropland to floods as God tries to get our attention. This has been going on for the last three presidents. The hundreds of billions that were lost to storm, fire, drought, earthquake and tornado damages would have more than covered our present deficit crises. But the heart of the fool inclines to the left and 60% of the evangelical church voted in Obama and his left-wing agenda.

While it is sad to see a great nation go down like this we should resolve to be among those who will hear the words of Jesus and do them. Our house will be built on a firm foundation and will withstand the storms that are coming. If we set our will to do the will of our Father in heaven, we can be confident –

“. . .that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 1:6

THE RESULTS OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS and A TREASONESS ATTITUDE

I just received this email from a friend and it needs to be sent around the country. It is time for those Americans who love their country to start praying for it! Because it is being stolen from us while we stand by and do nothing. While some valiant Americans in Arizona try to defend their state and America from this kind of attack - our government resists them, even taking them to court to stop them from enforcing enacted federal laws. President Obama even sided with the government of Mexico against Arizona, in court, when Arizona decided to enforce federally enacted laws against illegal immigrants. Senator John McCain and former governor Janet Napolitano do nothing for their state and even work against them. There was a time in America when such actions would have been the end of anyone's political career.


Here is another look at what is happening to this country - I guess I would have been hauled off to jail for trying to do something and shame on those people who stood around doing nothing - cops included!

The news will not show it and the Capitol Police and Homeland Security would not let Americans or any of the Veterans that were there do anything about it. My husband and his friends were threatened to be arrested and were told they would be booked under federal charges if they did anything.

I am sending this to you so that you in turn can start emailing it to everyone on your list. It is totally uncalled for and people need to see it. This is not about politics and rhetoric; it is about a direct threat to our country.

Those of you that don't live in Arizona will maybe get a chance to see the other side of what the news is telling you. If this offends you greatly, then I have truly accomplished what I set out to do. I understand that sometimes we don't see eye to eye on certain things, but that is the right our forefathers fought for.

I am an American. For those of you who choose to dismiss this: If you believe that this is okay I believe you are a traitor to this country and everything it stands for. I am not a racist and I am not a Nazi, this has nothing to do with race, it has to do with respect to the country that is continually taking you in and turning a blind eye to your agenda. Homeland Security was designed to identify and defend America from Terrorist acts yet yesterday it let illegal and legal citizens of this country desecrate the Flag. People were spitting on it, stomping on it and burning it with cigarettes. One soldier who had just returned from Iraq tried to grab the flag and was thrown to the ground by the Capitol Police and Homeland Security.

It amazes me how many people will stand against the American People while all the while prospering from our system and our government."

I just watched NBC News and President Obama honoring a war hero with the medal of honor. He lost his right hand and forearm in the action. Then to see these pictures of illegals and legals dishonoring the flag for which this man fought and many of his comrades gave their lives for makes me mad. The same government that honored this soldier also says these freeloaders have the right to light fires on the flag and spit on it. This needs to stop! Are there no patriots left in Washington DC to enact laws to stop this or impeach those Justices that say it is OK? Are my tax dollars going to support law enforcement to protect these people and not our flag?

 Granted, I'm just a retired teacher from another generation but I still remember when it was a proud thing to carry our flag and to honor it. I'm still proud to be an American and I don't like turning the other cheek when aliens repeatedly spit on me - and when they spit on my flag, they are spitting on me!

This is my land, all 40 acres of it. I bought it and I improved it. It is small by comparison to some, but it is the land God gave me. If someone came in and took part of it and gave it to someone else, I would protest in the strongest terms and with all the force I could muster. If there were no local government authority who would help me, I would defend it with a gun, which is my right. If no local authority would help me, I would appeal to a higher authority. After all, I hold the deed to it. The one who tried to take my land would be known as a thief!

Now this scenario is being played out on a grand scale before our very eyes! Muslim Arabs are trying to take land from the nation of Israel. Even though the Arabs own 100's of times more land than Israel, they want what Israel has. Israel bought the land when it was a waste and worked to improve it until it is productive; forested, fruitful, with even it's deserts blooming. What is more astounding - Israel has the title deed to the land and it is an everlasting title!

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. - Genesis 17:7, 8

This title deed was passed on to Isaac, Jacob, and all their children. Now because of their sin and rebellion, God allowed them to be dispersed from the land as punishment but, He promised to bring them back - the everlasting covenant is still in effect! 

And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD. . . And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever. Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. - Ezekiel 37:14, 25, 26

Now that they are back in the land, outside forces are trying to steal it from them. They have appealed to the 'local authorities' the so-called Quartet (EU, USA, Russia and the UN) but they are proceeding to allow the land to be stolen. Like any landowner would do, Israel will fight and appeal to a higher authority. That 'higher authority' is God Almighty and He takes a dim view of dividing up the land He has given by an everlasting covenant! He will use Jerusalem to judge the nations who rebel against His word.

And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. - Zechariah 12:3

God is about to bring these nations down into the valley of judgment where He will argue with them - and He never loses an argument!

I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. - Joel 3:2

The outcome of this argument is fixed, the nations cannot win, and in the process Israel will have her eyes opened and return to the LORD. All the nations of the so-called Quartet deserve the judgment they are going to get because of their persecution of the Jewish people in the past but, the USA is out of place. It has always been a friend to Israel and the Jews, even from our founding times. Why would the USA side with this Quartet, which by the way also hates the USA? The answer is that we have been deceived by Satan into electing an administration that is more Muslim than Christian. They are deceived and twice blind; blind to the physical harm that will come to us from Islamic terrorism if we give into them, and blind to the spiritual reality that God is real and He will judge those who try to divide the land of Israel or Jerusalem. He has done it before, and He doesn't change!

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey. - Ezekiel 36:5

We need to understand that the land of Israel isn't just Israel's land, God takes ownership of it and calls it 'My land". That is why the Jews were not sell the land, except for a short time.

The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me. - Leviticus 25:23

If you care for the United States and for yourself, pray earnestly that the Obama administration will reverse its stand and will bow to God's will. Pray that we will be the 'wings of a great eagle' that helps Israel in her time of need. 

And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. - Revelation 12:14

If we choose wrongly, God will still provide deliverance for Israel from another source but the United States will simply move from a nation blessed by God to a nation cursed by God. As God covenanted with Abraham -

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. - Genesis 12:3
