Jeremiah and Malchi Speak to America

As one calamity after another strikes the U.S. whether they be natural disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, fires, or drought, or attacks by terrorists and financial downturns, the nightly news seems to be dominated by bad news. We can no longer claim it is just the result of better news coverage as those who keep statistics have now shown that natural disasters of every sort are definitely on the increase. What is the answer?

Atheism is growing in leaps and bounds in the western world:

1.   45% of Americans say they’d be willing to vote for an atheist for president of the United States.
2.   President Barak Obama puts them on an equal footing as religious Americans – in his 1^st inaugural address, he said, “For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus, and non-believers.”
3.   Atheism is so big in the United Kingdom that more than 100,000 Britons downloaded “certificates of de-baptism” off the internet to make official the renunciation of their Christian faith.

There are at least three reasons for this rapid growth in atheism; now at least 16% in the USA which is more than main-line Protestants.

1.   Firstly, the amount of evil coming from within Islam; as Jihadist commit genocide in Africa, and in countries with Muslim majorities liberty is almost non-existent for women and for those of other religions. (Remember atheists lump Christians, Jews, and Muslims together as religions.)
2.   Secondly, the secular indoctrination of a generation thanks to a de facto atheistic public school system. If you are purported to be a purveyor of truth and you never mention God or give credit to Him, pupils are bound to conclude that God doesn’t exist! We now have had several generations of this mind-set.
3.   Thirdly, Christianity and Judaism have largely failed to provide any contrast to the ever-growing atheistic secularism of the western world. Dennis Prager writes, “It is virtually impossible to distinguish between liberal Christian or Jew and a liberal secularist”. All three regard the human fetus as morally worthless; regard the man-woman definition of marriage as a form of bigotry; and come close to holding pacifist beliefs, to cite just a few examples.
In the face of these points, fewer and fewer are willing to stand to confront them, so atheism continues to grow.[1]

How do we face this reality? The answer is, we must face up to the reality of our condition:

FIRST: I dare to suggest that we have brought this evil upon ourselves because we willfully left our covenant relationship with the God of the Bible. When our forefathers came to this land, they entered into covenant relationship with Him and as a result we, their children, have enjoyed the blessings and prosperity of that relationship. A parallel is written about in the Book of Jeremiah.

Thus says the LORD: "What injustice have your fathers found in Me, that they have gone far from Me, have followed idols, and have become idolaters? – Jer. 2:5

Israel began with a covenant relationship with God but then they turned against Him and God asked them why? Israel didn’t realize their blessings were caused by God and not their own intelligence or industry. They wandered from God’s commands and looked to other nations. They began to depend on ‘the arm of flesh’ and it failed them!

For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn themselves cisterns--broken cisterns that can hold no water. – Jer.2:13

The United States of America is doing the exact same thing and we are beginning to experience the same results. We have forsaken the God of the Bible; no longer mentioning Him in our schools turning instead to the idolatry of Humanism. The 10 year anniversary of the terrorist attack on 9/11 was recently memorialized in New York and the mayor would not let God be a part of it. His excuse was ‘He didn’t want to offend any other religion!’ He didn’t even know enough about the true God to differentiate between Him and all the false gods that are so freely celebrated in our land!

SECOND: As a nation we offend God regularly as we kill 1.6 million babies a year by abortion – the total count is now up to 60 million. And then we wonder why a spirit of murder is released on our nation! We are giving our country to Mexicans and Muslims because we kill our babies and they keep theirs, often using our tax-payer dollars to care for them.

Also on your skirts is found the blood of the lives of the poor innocents. I have not found it by secret search, But plainly on all these things. Yet you say, 'Because I am innocent, surely His anger shall turn from me.' Behold, I will plead My case against you, Because you say, 'I have not sinned.' – Jer. 2:34, 35

Our church families surrender their most precious gift, their children, to the public school where they teach against God. The churches say, ‘We have a great Sunday School program’ where they teach the children about God for ½ to 1 hour a week but then turn the children over to the public schools where they are taught 30 or more hours a week the doctrines of humanism, homosexuality, promiscuity, evolution and socialism. This says nothing about the so-called ‘socialization’ process that is going on from the other kids who do not practice the teachings of Christ. If my math is correct, that means the public school has up to 60 times more influence on the children than the church has. And yet, I do not see Pastors teaching against this practice or encouraging home schooling.

THIRD: Our leaders promise anything to the people just to get elected, full knowing they cannot fulfill their pledges. Washington DC is filled with self-seekers and liars and no party is exempt from them. The news media which claims special rights in our system because they were supposed to be the messengers of truth for the electorate are mostly concerned with their own power and agendas. Because we have forsaken God’s standards of truth, we are easily deceived by wickedness.

Jeremiah speaks loudly to this country -

“Your own wickedness will correct you, and your backslidings will rebuke you. Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing that you have forsaken the LORD your God, and the fear of Me is not in you," Says the Lord GOD of hosts. – Jer. 2:19

FOURTH: America is losing its foundation, the family, as divorce now exceeds 50%. This is a deadly statistic for any nation as almost every institution is based upon the family. Psalm 11 verse 3 asks, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” The answer is, NOT MUCH! When over 52% of our children are living in single parent homes there is not the proper teaching of faithfulness, of commitment, of kindness, of honoring your word, and a whole host of principles a society depends upon. That is why God declares “I hate divorce!”

We have opened the gates of our country and allowed a ‘Trojan Horse’ to be brought in. The judgment of our own wickedness is indeed upon us and we will see that it is an evil and bitter thing. We have made money our god and we are about to see our financial system come collapsing down around us. All the other things that we have made more important than our relationship with God and His Son Jesus Christ will not save us from the calamity ahead.

But where are your gods that you have made for yourselves? Let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your trouble; for according to the number of your cities are your gods, O Judah. – Jer. 2:28

FINALLY: We are about to be hit with a tsunami of judgment that will wash away everything not built on the Rock. Jesus is that Rock. His word is the only solid foundation that will stand against the flood that is coming. As the prophet Malachi wrote, we have “profaned the Lord’s holy institution”, which He loves; there is no fear of the Lord in our lives; we have allowed foreign gods to rule our lives, such as humanism, materialism, pleasure, and we have looked to other people for our approval rather than God. Rejection by other people is more important to us than rejection by God!

Remember what the Apostle Paul wrote to us,

¹⁶ I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. ¹⁸ But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, ²¹ envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. – Galatians 5:16-21

Remember, it is the “little foxes that spoil the harvest”. Great evils usually have small beginnings and so God warns us: contentions, jealousies, dissentions, or outbursts of wrath are as damaging as great heresies.

It has been said of me by some in this congregation that there is no moving of the Spirit here and that we do not speak of the Love of God enough here – but I say to you, this is the Spirit of God speaking to you and it is the love of God revealed because He does not want you to fail, or be deceived by the evil one. God’s message to Malachi concludes with -

“Behold, I send My messenger,
And he will prepare the way before Me.
And the Lord, whom you seek,
Will suddenly come to His temple,
Even the Messenger of the covenant,
In whom you delight.
Behold, He is coming,”
Says the Lord of hosts.

² “But who can endure the day of His coming?
And who can stand when He appears?
For He is like a refiner’s fire
And like launderers’ soap.
³ He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver;
He will purify the sons of Levi,
And purge them as gold and silver,
That they may offer to the Lord
An offering in righteousness. Malachi 3

Many Christians talk about the Lord’s soon coming but do they know that when He comes it will be a time of purging, with fire, the dross that is in His Bride, the Church. Remember the Word of God says “If we would judge ourselves, we shall not be judged” so let us begin now return to our true foundations in Christ and His word.

Our President held out the promise of hope through the political process, but I say to you our only hope is the word the prophet Hosea gave to a backsliding Israel,

Come, and let us return to the LORD; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. – Hosea 6:1

Out of love, God is warning us to check our foundations that we may not be washed away by the tsunami that is coming. I, for one, intend to do just that. If we do this, God will say to us what He said to the Philadelphia Church of Revelation 3 –

Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

The Attack against Israel and Christians

Are we living in the generation that will see the fulfillment of these verses from the Book of Revelation?

Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the maleChild. But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. – Revelation 12:13-17

Persecution of Israel has gone on for nearly 2000 years, but the 1930’s and 40’s began a period of all-out intense hatred of Jewish people which was centered in Nazi Germany. While the demise of Germany’s Hitler ushered in an interlude in that hatred, it merely caused it to go underground for a time, to re-appear in more successful vehicles. It has reappeared in Islam, the UN, and the EU.

Remember, the Devil’s goal is to destroy faith in God. So while he attacks the Jews, he also attacks any faith in God, Jesus His Son, and in the Bible, which is His Word. We are witnessing how materialism, pluralism, and political correctness can be just as successful weapons for Satan as Nazism was. The Bible warns that “the love of money is the root of all evil” and we can see how government and the corporate world can be corrupted by it. I am not speaking against true capitalism, which I believe is of God, but of the greed which drives both government and the corporate world to succeed without God. They have forgotten the Biblical truth that it is “God who gives the power to get riches” and our government is settling for worldly power rather than godly authority. Pluralism breeds an ‘anything goes’ attitude that denies Biblical standards of truth and morality while the doctrine of ‘political correctness’ attacks any who would dare to stand for those standards.

Once the devil’s weapons of materialism, pluralism, and political correctness have sufficiently weakened us, he turns to the corruption of politics. Few understand that Islam is not primarily a religion but a political ideology that hates Israel and wants to destroy it. Does no one wonder why Islam, which teaches anyone who does not believe in Allah must be destroyed, could be so closely aligned with Hitler or with Communism, both of which confessed atheism and occultism?

While the UN was founded by people with Catholic backgrounds, their roots have always been socialistic and they regularly pass resolutions condemning Israel. While they say they are for equality among nations, persons from Israel can hardly get a job in the UN while Palestinians are readily preferred. The recent article Revealed: UN Body PrefersPro-Palestinian Employees says it all. Another recent article, Potential Economic Sanctions Really Anti-Semitism, also reveals how the EU is taking a stand against Israel in favor of Palestinians.

Since WWII, the world has seen a dramatic decline in faith in God. The churches throughout Europe are mostly empty or have been taken over by Islam. The head of the EU declared that if a man came forward with a solution to their economic problems, they would follow him whether he is God or devil! They have clearly chosen the devil! Israel itself is largely a secular state and America is rapidly denying the faith that once made them strong. In Europe and South America, Nazism is rearing its ugly head once again. In America, radical Muslims are given sensitive jobs in the government and public display of Christian values is discouraged. Laws are being passed which stop Christians from legally practicing their faith, such as forcing Christian bakers to make cakes for homosexual weddings, or Christian medical workers being forced to give abortions, or Christian landlords forced to rent to homosexuals. American corporations are caving into this pressure all for the sake of the dollar, changing Merry Christmas greetings by employees to Happy Holidays. Apple’s new iPhone 5 now places the Jerusalem’s Wailing Wall in Palestinian Jerusalem.

There are many other examples of this rapid decay into the Antichrist system but, I list these few to draw your attention to the last verses of Revelation that this article began with. Not only is another holocaust for the Jews being planned, but Christians as well are the target. If America loses its faith in God for the sake of materialism, pluralism, or political correctness, we will cease to be the ‘light set on a hill’ that our founders envisioned. And further, Jews and Christians will be driven “into the wilderness” in defeat.

During WWII, America almost waited too long before joining the battle and won only at great cost. In this war, if American Christians do not stand up now and fight for the faith that was delivered to us, we too may face a great cost.

But be encouraged, it is not too late for us to overcome if we call on the name of the Lord without fear, giving testimony of our faith in the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. Pray earnestly how you can be the person you were destined to be – one who is a witness for God and His Son Jesus Christ.

The Meaning of Christmas

The Christmas season is once again approaching and I already see stores setting up displays of Christmas trees, bright lights, and isles filled with toys and other items related to the season. It is with great sadness that I read about the White House no longer erecting a Christmas tree but a ‘holiday’ tree because either they don’t believe in Christmas or they are afraid of offending Muslims and others. While Islam is un-ashamedly declaring they will take over the world and every knee will bow in submission to Allah, Christians are mostly silent on the reason we celebrate Christmas, or perhaps it’s just because most don’t know why Christmas is important.

Just what is Christmas anyway? Is it Santa and a sleigh full of presents for every child? Is it a time of celebration and family get-together's? Or is it a time for retailers to make up for lagging sales throughout the year?

While all these things might be done during the Christmas season, they are not what Christmas is about! The true meaning of Christmas can be summed up in a verse from the Book of Isaiah:

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” – Isaiah 9:6, 7

Christmas is really about God re-affirming His government on earth. This government was officially re-established nearly 2000 years ago with the birth of the Christ Child, Jesus. To Isaiah it was revealed that His government would increase and have no end. To king David God revealed –

“..I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion. …Now therefore, be wise O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth, serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.” – Psalm 2:6-12.

Satan’s forces claim they will rule the world but it is always through fear, intimidation and violence that they try to achieve their goal. God’s plan is for the government of Christ to be established with “judgment and justice”. It is not forced on anyone but each is given a free choice. We all have sinned in some way and so have earned the reward of death but because of God’s love for us, He made a way to be reconciled through the free sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. His mercy makes a way for all who will choose it.

How are judgment and justice brought forth? Those who follow Jesus, the Christ, are having their senses exercised to discern good and evil. His innocent blood shed for us on the cross cleanses us from sin and guilt. The Holy Spirit, Jesus sends to every believer who asks, is training us to judge every situation, every temptation by holding it up to the light of God’s Word. When we choose God and His standards, true justice is established. We are not only cleansed by the blood of the Lamb but it also gives us judgment, the act of discerning between the good and evil. When we testify of the good, the truth, (and that means act on it) God’s justice is lifted up like a light in the darkness. When we give place to no fear but the fear of God – we overcome. Our prayer rises like sweet smelling incense to God.

Christmas is about God making a way to save us from our self-imposed destruction. As each individual person responds to the free offer of salvation through Christ Jesus, the government of Christ grows.

Christmas is about establishing the government of Christ Jesus in our individual lives. We do that by turning from ideas and actions that will destroy us to the ideals that Jesus and the Word of God teach us. This process is called repentance. Contrary to popular thought, repentance is not just feeling sorry but it is changing from bad to good. It starts with individuals. But when individuals change they can affect their families. And when families change they can affect their communities. And when communities change they can affect their states. And when states change they can affect their nation, and so on. So, every individual has the potential to affect nations for the good!

We celebrate Christmas because it commemorates the birth of the Christ Child. The time God stepped into man’s history with the answer to his problems. The time when God began to bring forth His government on earth that will only increase and have no end.

No matter how bad the world situation looks or how much evil seems to hold sway over mankind, I can celebrate Christmas with joy because it reminds me that Christ is still on the throne of God’s government on earth and it will yet rule all. How can I be sure of this? Because the “zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish it!”

Light to See By

19 Year Old Christian Girl Forced to Convert to Islam with Knife at Her Throat

Imagine if this happened to your daughter. You say, “That could never happen here!” But, it could. Islamic terrorists are capturing children all over Nigeria and subjecting them to this choice – convert to Islam and be a slave or die! The same Islamic philosophy drives Muslims in the West as those in Africa. Already, in countries like Holland, France,  England, and even the United States wherever Muslims become a majority they are pressing for Sharia law where husbands can kill their wives for lack of submission.

In the United States Muslim Brotherhood, which has been indicted as a terrorist group, is being placed in key positions of authority in the Obama administration. In cities like Dearborn MI so-called ‘mercy killings’ are taking place. ‘Mercy killings’ seem to be legal, under Sharia law, for cases of suspected adultery on the wife’s side, leaving the faith, unruly children, and a whole host of other actions. Now we are seeing public schools around the nation teaching Islam to grade school children, even while they refuse to honor Christmas as a Christian holiday. Graduating students cannot mention Jesus in Salutatorian speeches but students can take Muslim names and pretend they are on jihad! All this and more is happening during the tenure of a president who is clearly sympathetic to Islam if not, as some claim, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. Jesus taught a simple rule to judge situations like this – “by their fruits you shall know them.”

President Obama worked to oust Qaddafi from Libya and President Mubarak from Egypt while backing the Muslim Brotherhood thus loosing the US key allies in the region, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Israel. He is backing Muslim Brotherhood forces in Syria against Assad. Now he has made a secret deal with Iran to allow them to become a nuclear power and has even made them the US’s main ally in the region, a position Israel once enjoyed. An Israeli headline says it all - Ex-Intel Chiefs: Obama Let Iran Go Nuclear. President Obama recently released an Iranian nuclear scientist from jail to honor the agreement he made with Iran but he would not bring up the release of the American preacher Saeed, who has been jailed in Iran for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After all, everyone knows preaching the Gospel is much more dangerous than building nuclear bombs!

The United States is the last place where Christianity can be freely practiced and it is being attacked here as well, even by those in high government positions. Our President has helped accelerate the process that began much earlier. As Allen West recently wrote in the article Obama's 'clandestine' plan to make bullets vanish by using the EPA to stop ammunition makers in the US from making bullets, Obama has successfully sidestepped the 2^nd Amendment. After all, what good are guns if you don’t have bullets?

If you infiltrate the country's leadership, undermine its ability to resist, build up its enemies, and then weaken the faith it was built on, you can bring down the country, even though it was a giant.

Our intelligentsia's are outlawing Christian expression from the public schools while allowing Islam full access. Under the banner of Political Correctness common sense has been outlawed. At the same time many in the Christian Church are preaching a doctrine of surrender rather than stand up and fight – after all, they might get sued! It is not the doctrine that Jesus and the Apostles preached but then maybe that is why they were in trouble all the time. If the churches really preached against evil in all its forms, they would be in court so often they would overload it! Because preaching against evil is certainly politically in-correct! Nevertheless, let us remember what Paul told Timothy -

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy,  – 1 Timothy 4:1-4

But, if we stand by the Word of God, we will not only have light to see by in this present darkness, but we will overcome it. Don't depart from the faith!

Wonders in Heaven

The comet ISON is nearing the earth and questions are being asked as to its meaning. Is it just a natural occurrence or does it have a deeper meaning?

¹⁷‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. ¹⁸ and on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy. ¹⁹ I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. ²⁰ The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. ²¹ And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved.’ – Acts 2:17-21

Peter quoted the prophet Joel on Pentecost to explain the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, but receiving the Holy Spirit is not all of the prophesy. From verse 19, it leaps forward in time to include wonders in heaven and signs on the earth just before the 2^nd coming of the Lord. Many are wondering if ISON will be such a sign in the heavens.

November 28 this year will be the comet ISON’s closest approach to the sun and as the sun melts it; ISON may become very bright, visible even during the day. Not only is this date our Thanksgiving, but it is also the Jewish feast of Hanukah, the Festival of Lights.  This is the festival during which Jesus declared “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." – John 8:12.

Right now ISON is passing just below the constellation Virgo, which is a picture of the birth of Christ from a virgin. Perhaps it is meant to alert us to the 4 blood-red moons that will occur in 2014-15 on Passover and Sukkoth (Tabernacles). The Jewish Talmud (book of tradition) records: "When the moon is in eclipse, it is a bad omen for Israel... If its face is as red as blood, it is a sign that the sword is coming to the world...”.  Sukkoth also marks the ingathering of the harvest, to those who have received Jesus Christ, a glorious time, but to those who have not, a time of trouble.

On December 26 ISON will make its closest approach to earth. This date on the Hebrew calendar is Tevet 23 which is the anniversary of the King of Portugal expelling Jews in 5257.during the Inquisition. He forced thousands to be baptized as Christians to please the King of Spain. So, it appears that ISON may also be a harbinger of evil events.

It has been reported that when ISON recently passed Mars it caused volcanos to erupt and as the comet nears the sun, solar activity is increasing. Some are wondering if this might not be the cause of the largest Typhon in history stiking the Philippenes this month. If comet ISON is capable of doing these things, then we may see increased earthquake activities and volcanic eruptions as it gets closer to the earth and the sun around Thanksgiving Day. If volcanoes and earthquakes erupt in California and Yellowstone as ISON goes by earth, then there could be a volcanic ash cloud that could blot out the sun for days, thus fulfilling Joel’s prophesy.

It is also worth noting that the rain of Pentecost began Joel’s prophesy and the James declares, “Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.” – James 5:7. I believe we may be near this ‘latter’ outpouring of the Holy Spirit to help bring in the full harvest.

Another scenario some have mentioned is our government declaring a national state of emergency in which President Obama seizes power. He may even cause a blackout and blame it on ISON.

All this is conjecture however, as no one but God knows for sure what ISON will do. One thing is certain though, if we are right with Christ, He will take care of us.

Things of Good Report

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things– Philippians 4:8

It is hard to maintain a peaceful calm attitude when financial crises are looming behind every news report, when possible war is dangerously close, or when personal freedoms are almost daily threatened. Those who love this country and the Constitution it was founded upon are confronted with the truth that this government is transgressing Constitutional provisions almost weekly and trying to limit or remove other constitutionally guaranteed rights that limit their power.

To any thinking person who knows the examples of history, it is fearful to see “political correctness” take the place of common sense and logic. King David asked “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” America has always had an open door to the downtrodden masses of the world but, only welcoming them to accept our way of life, as Thomas Jefferson wrote,

"Born in other countries, yet believing you could be happy in this, our laws acknowledge, as they should do, your right to join us in society, conforming, as I doubt not you will do, to our established rules."

Anyone who honestly reads our early history knows we were founded on Christian principles. In fact Christianity was so common and accepted it was simply referred to as ‘religion’. As our 2^nd President John Adams wrote,

While our country remains untainted with the principles and manners which are now producing desolation in so many parts of the world; while she continues sincere, and incapable of insidious and impious policy, we shall have the strongest reason to rejoice in the local destination assigned us by Providence. But should the people of America once become capable of that deep simulation towards one another, and towards foreign nations, which assumes the language of justice and moderation, while it is practicing iniquity and extravagance, and displays in the most captivating manner the charming pictures of candour, frankness, and sincerity, while it is rioting in rapine and insolence, this country will be the most miserable habitation in the world. Because we have no government, armed with power, capable of contending with human passions, unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge and licentiousness would break the strongest cords of our Constitution, as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. Oaths in this country are as yet universally considered as sacred obligations. That which you have taken, and so solemnly repeated on that venerable ground, is an ample pledge of your sincerity and devotion to your country and its government.

We are dangerously close to being exactly what he warned against. Liberal, leftist, progressive (another name for communist) politicians are trying hard to substitute European socialistic principles for American principles which were founded upon Judeo-Christian philosophy. High court judges even dare to interpret American Laws according by what EU laws say. The EU boasts it is democratic but they are forcibly taking children away from parents because those parents want to home-school when the Holy Bible gives the responsibility for raising children solely to parents, not the state!

“… and towards foreign nations, which assumes the language of justice and moderation, while it is practicing iniquity and extravagance …”

The current Administration does exactly this. While they preach modesty of lifestyle and ‘share the wealth’ ideals, they themselves lead extravagant lifestyles with parties and vacations that cost the tax payers millions of dollars.

And in another letter, President Adams warned,

Statesmen, my dear Sir, may plan and speculate for Liberty, but it is Religion and Morality alone, which can establish the Principles upon which Freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free Constitution is pure Virtue, and if this cannot be inspired into our People in a greater Measure than they have it now, they may change their Rulers and the forms of Government, but they will not obtain a lasting Liberty. They will only exchange Tyrants and Tyrannies.

As our nation is now being flooded with Islamic and Hispanic people, we should not allow them to change our “established rules”, as Thomas Jefferson wrote, but rather be conformed to the standards that made us great as a nation, namely Christian principles! If they want Sharia law or Socialism, then they are free to return to their own countries. When politicians promote free handouts to the masses for the sake of votes, they are not promoting America. They are instead substituting tyranny for liberty!

As I wrote earlier, it is hard to maintain a peaceful calm attitude when I see many in Washington, both Democrats and Republicans, doing these very things. They need to relearn that it is not some “Hope and Change” slogan that guarantees Liberty, but religion and morality alone, as John Adams said!

However, there is cause for hope:

·         God is still on the throne and He is un-swayed by man’s foolishness.

·         Though liberals try to outlaw God’s word, it is still the standard they will be judged by.

·         There is now an uprising against the government tyranny of ObamaCare by some 70% of the people.

·         The electorate is sending a message to RINO’s – “Shape up or get out!”

·         There is a ground swell of American calling for a State’s Constitutional Convention, as written in the 5^th Amendment, taking us back to our original Constitution and it is not subject to Congress, Administration, or Supreme Court.

·         God’s predicted plan is moving ahead and it is dividing between the righteous and the unrighteous, as Malachi prophesied.

Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not. – Malachi 3:18

So, you see, even in the midst of this present turmoil, there is cause for hope and peace. It is to be found in God’s promises and in His Son, Jesus Christ.

King David wrote in Psalm 2,

He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision.
​​Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
And distress them in His deep displeasure:
​​“Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.”

Destroying Foundations

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. - Romans 1:18-32

In this passage the Apostle Paul is writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit the downward spiral of mankind due to sin. It begins with the refusal of men to recognize God as the Creator. Paul states, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse”. How can this be? Surely, those living without the Word of God having been declared to them are innocent of this accusation! No! Every person ever born comes complete with a body, a soul, and a spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:23) and it is by that God-given spirit that man knows enough about God to call on Him. As is revealed in Proverbs 20:27 –

The spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD,
Searching all the inner depths of his heart.

Paul says they know “even His eternal power and Godhead”. In other words, they all know enough about God to humble themselves and earnestly seek Him. But most did not follow this course. Instead they “became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened”, all the while professing themselves to be wise. They “changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.” In other words, they worshipped the created things above God, who created them. Today, we call these people humanists and evolutionists. It really does not matter what they have been called down through the centuries, the description fits them all – they were unthankful, futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened from the light of true knowledge. The result of their influence has been a downward spiral of societal futility.

Families are broken apart from, sexual immorality, untrustworthiness, and unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful relationships resulting in divorce. After all, if man doesn’t honor his covenant with God (true marriage is a covenant with God), why will he honor his covenant with his wife? But, it doesn’t stop there, soon homosexuality and lesbianism surface, flouting God’s original intent for marriage – to beget godly seed. Too late man discovers that the foundation of every societal endeavor is a strong stable family and the society crumbles before them. As David wrote –

If the foundations are destroyed,
What can the righteous do? – Psalm 11:3

It is into such turmoil that Antichrist will be revealed as Paul warns the Thessalonians –

9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. – 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

The frightening truth is that God gives man what he wants, and He sends man strong delusion so they are unable to discern good from evil, right from wrong.

I believe we are skirting around the boundaries of this judgment even now in America. If we do not repent and return to God as a nation, we will collapse. The harbingers have been given and the warning signs are clearly visible. We must turn back and it must begin with those in the Church. God help us!
